Jumping Off Point

Another action photo from Math Master & Commander, Steve O’Keefe.  We know he’s at home at sea.  But he’s equally adept at capturing life as it flies by.

More Steve pix can be found at the PhotO’Keefe link to the right – or by clicking here.

PhotO'Keefe Meets Dali

This picture from Cap’n Steve O’Keefe, our Math Master & Commander, shows that if you peer down a level or two, reality isn’t all just straight lines and crisp angles.  I think this photo is from a trip to Denmark (right Steve?) or some other wonderfully surreal location.

PhotO’Keefe

Let’s ‘dive’ into this school year’s first installment of our series PhotO’Keefe, which features photographs taken by our very own Math Dept. Chair, and Master & Commander, Steve O’Keefe.  This pic pretty much speaks for itself, or at least for Steve, for who hasn’t seen him descend on “a situation” like this at some point?

If you want to see more excellent pix by our Math Cap’n you can click on the “PhotO’Keefe” category link on the right column or click on the link above.

Another pic from math Master & Commander, Steve O’Keefe.  This one’s from New Year’s Day at Great Falls.  Or rather above Great Falls.  Given the ice on the roads on this late start Tuesday, this looks like the best way to travel.

PhotO’Keefe

With the threat of snow flurrying about, here’s a photo that math Master & Commander, Steve O’Keefe, took last year during Snowmageddon ’10.   Reminiscent of The Band’s seminal album, Music From Big Pink, this smaller pink house, covered in a blanket of snow, tucked into downtown Bethesda.  And as a special bonus, this cozy Pink House was also the site of last Friday’s cozy Welcome Party for incoming Head, Andrew Slater.  For more PhotO’Keefe’s click here.  And as snow starts to lightly fall, take a listen from the Band’s no. 1 song from Big Pink.

Here’s a Holiday Portrait of the Artist As a Camera Man.  I’m sure math teacher, Steve O’Keefe, knows the equation that describes the shape of the ornament and his image on it.  Here’s a couple photos from the Math Master & Commander’s holiday trip to Longwood Gardens (a truly beautiful place in any season).
